AutoCat is shareware. This means that you can freely download a copy to see if you like it, and if you like it you should pay for it. In return for registering, you will receive a registation code which will disable the reminder message at startup.
You can register your copy via Kagi, which is a company that processes shareware registrations on behalf of authors.
You can either securely register over the Internet, or you can use the included Register program which allows for a wide variety of other payment methods.
When you pay, you will be sent a copy of your serial number by Kagi. If you do not have an email address, please enter your complete postal address and please remember, Kagi do not know what country you live in so please enter that into the postal address also.
If you do not have an email address you should consider selecting the Postcard Receipt so that Kagi can inform you of your serial number. Kagi transmits the serial numbers via email and paid postcard receipt only.
Once you have a serial number, simply enter it into the window that comes up when AutoCat starts and click the "Register" button.
To register online, go to the Kagi Secure Online Ordering Page, and follow the instructions given.
Once registered, you should get an email message from Kagi confirming your order and including your serial number within 3 to 4 days at most, although it's usually processed within a couple of hours.
Registering via email or postal mail
Open the Register program that accompanies AutoCat. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire (or Site or World-Wide licenses). Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi.
Please note that I am unable to process payments personally, you have to send the details to Kagi.
If paying with credit card, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and their fax number is (510) 652-6589.
Payments sent via email are usually processed within 3 to 4 days at most, usually in a couple of hours. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed which contains your serial number. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.
If you are paying with cash or US Dollar check you should print the data using the Register application and send them both to the address shown on the form, which is:
You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via cheque, it must be a cheque drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept cheques in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD cheques is around USD 15 per cheque and that is just not practical.
If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment.
Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on your end.
Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Cheque or Invoice as the payment method. Without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
Payments sent via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
